A few weeks ago we set our new intern Laura a little task, it was to arrange a small photo shoot with some of our Spring and Summer Dresses, (we want our interns to have fun) Laura had total control on the items and location of the shoot. We are so happy with the images produced and asked her why she picked the pieces she did and why she chose these amaaazing pastel houses as the backdrop.
“Summer is all about colorfulness and enjoyable days out, the bright clothing and cool prints from the Tallulah’s Threads Spring/Summer collections really express this. With this shoot I really wanted to have some fun and bring all those vibes in. Hanover in Brighton is the perfect place to showcase this, Brighton is such a fun-loving city and also where the brand started.” – Laura James
All dresses available on our site in various sizes. All hand made to order in our Brighton studio.
(pssst two of them are in our summer sale)
You can always count on seeing a Flamingo or two during the summer months. There is something about this pink, slender creature that seems to work so well on clothing and in prints and conjures up feelings of tropical paradises and long sandy beaches that we love so much. Therefore, its only fitting that we include a Flamingo print in our Summer 16 collection!
Our fave is the Palm Springs Tropical Skater Dress below, as its in a flattering shape with a super sweet, glittery motif of a tropical scene. It’s not too overpowering and has a fun and flirty hint. Perfect for festivals!
We have your Flamingo obsession covered! All the above can be teamed with tights for those slightly cooler days, as lets face it UK, there’s plenty of those!! Or with some slick chunky sandals for an edge in the sun.
On the 3rd we shot our Autumn/Winter 2015 Lookbook with the lovely Jess from I Am Foxxtailz and the Tallulah’s Threads models Becky and Mallory.
We shot on a Saturday in the Brighton lanes and luckily the weather was perfect! It was a nice day but slightly overcast which is perfect for shooting outside as it gives the best light. The theme for the day was ‘Spoilt Rotten’ and the three gals were asked to channel their inner ‘brat’ with the use of cuddly bears and a Pegasus for props.
We love how the images have turned out and feel they capture the cute and playfulness of our latest collection perfectly!

As well as our own label we now and again like to pick up some Vintage gems to rework and sell in the boutique. We know some vintage lovers may disagree with reworking vintage items however we see the potential in that long frumpy dress that has most likely been overlooked for decades and see it could be that perfect cute summer dress with a few easy nips and tucks.
So that’s what we have been working on in the studio this week, simply changes such as raising the hemline and reducing the volume in an 80’s sleeve, they make such a difference whilst still retaining the items vintage vibe.
Here’s a few behind the scenes shots but be sure to check back with us tomorrow for the finished items which will be up for sale and most definitely a one off, perfect addition to your summer wardrobe!
Last Saturday we found a really cute little garden in the grounds of a Manor House in Brighton and new at once it would be perfect for our High Summer 2015 Lookbook. We spent the day having fun and messing around playing hide and seek and acting like young kids again whilst our photographer Mike from Crate47 snapped away catching cute moments and silly faces. We even had a quick lesson of Croquet by an over eager gent!
We are so so pleased with the results and we think the images capture the playful and fun feel of the brand perfectly.
Big thanks to Mike and our two models Becky & Mallory xx
We are all set to launch our High Summer collection tomorrow and had a fantastic day on Saturday shooting the Lookbook and campaign images. However, there is a lot of hard work that goes into a new collection.
We source all fabric ourselves from various suppliers in the UK, keeping an eye on the prints that stand out to us and have a cute and vintage feel. We sample all pieces in house in order to tweak and refine the design and fit, and finally everyone is involved in the shoot, giving opinions and ideas on how to get the best shot, through to help with styling.
Here are just a few images taken behind the scenes showing the progression of the collection and don’t forget to check back with us tomorrow to see the new arrivals!
Over the last few weeks we have been super busy at Tallulah’s Threads working on our High Summer Collection for 2014. We have taken the time to source vintage inspired fabrics and turned them into cute hand made dresses and twin sets.
